This is an original printing of Wes Wilson-designed poster for Otis Rush & His Chicago Blues Band, appearing with the Mothers of Invention (with Frank Zappa) and Morning Glory at the Fillmore in 1967. Original art by Wes Wilson (BG-53) in the Bill Graham/Fillmore series. This poster is one of several posters Wes Wilson designed using a “split fountain,” with a color gradient running top to bottom.

According to ClassicPosters.com, Frank Zappa rented a thunder machine from a movie studio for this concert and used it as a rhythm instrument. The original poster was printed on vellum and measures approximately 13½″ x 22½″. The background to the right of the “s” in “Mothers” is a rust color. The second print poster was printed on white index stock and measures approximately 13½″ x 22½″. This poster was also printed using the split-fountain technique, but the background to the right of the “s” in “Mothers” is a pale orange color.
